Passport & Visa

Visa requirements depend on your nationality.

Many nationalities can enter Morocco visa-free for stays of up to 90 days, but this does not apply to everyone.

Please check the Moroccan entry requirements that apply to your passport before travelling.

Airport to Accommodation

You don’t need to worry about getting from the airport to Tamraght. We’ll pick you up! ❤️

The driver will be waiting for you outside the airport arrivals area, holding a sign saying “Nomaya Surf House.”

The drive from Agadir Airport to Tamraght is approximately 45 minutes.

Once you arrive, you can settle in, unpack, and get ready to meet the rest of the group.

Tamraght, Morocco

Tamraght is a small coastal village just north of Agadir and close to Taghazout.

The area is known for its surf beaches and relaxed coastal atmosphere. You’ll find cafés, local restaurants, small shops, surf schools, and beaches within the area. Tamraght is less busy than a large city, so expect a more local and laid-back environment.

Program

Surf lessons will begin the day after your arrival. Please remember that surfing depends on nature — wave conditions, tides, and weather can influence the schedule. We’ll always choose the best conditions for the group.

What to Pack

Tamraght is on the Atlantic coast, so although days can be warm and sunny, evenings can feel cooler. Wind can also make it feel colder than expected.

We recommend bringing:

  • Summer clothes — shorts, T-shirts, etc.

  • A few loose-fitting / lightweight outfits for exploring villages and towns

  • At least one sweatshirt or sweater for the evenings

  • A light jacket or windbreaker — especially useful on the coast

  • Comfortable walking shoes or trainers

  • Flip-flops / sandals

  • Sports clothes for walking, yoga, etc.

  • Swimsuit — maybe even more than one!

  • Sunglasses

  • Cap or hat

  • Sunscreen SPF 50+, the Moroccan sun can be strong

  • Hair ties — very important for surfing!

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Small day bag / crossbody bag

  • Basic medicines and personal cosmetics

  • Phone + charger

  • Travel adapter if needed

  • Passport

  • Travel insurance documents

  • Some Moroccan dirhams (MAD) for small purchases

SIM Card & Internet

If you want to stay online, buy a Moroccan SIM card when you arrive.

We'll also have a WhatsApp group for the retreat, so you'll be able to stay in touch with us and the rest of the group.

There is wifi at the accommodation, also at the caffes / restaurants.

Before the retreat, we’ll create a WhatsApp group where we’ll share:

  • Final updates and arrival information.

  • Day-to-day plan

  • Photos, music, tip and tricks and more :)

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend having travel insurance before coming.

Please make sure your insurance covers:

  • Medical expenses.

  • Travel delays or cancellations.

  • Lost luggage.

  • Surfing or water activities.

Money Information

Morocco uses the Moroccan Dirham (MAD / DH).

Exchange money directly at the airport.

There are ATMs and exchange facilities available, and international Visa/Mastercard cards are accepted in many hotels, restaurants and shops.

However, cash is still very useful, especially in smaller cafés, local shops, markets, taxis, and smaller restaurants.

Morocco is a beautiful and colourful country where Africa, Europe, Arab and Amazigh (Berber) culture meet.

Around Tamraght you’ll experience a very relaxed surf culture, with beautiful Atlantic beaches, palm trees, small cafés, local restaurants, colourful markets, and plenty of sunshine.

You can expect:

  • 🌊 Atlantic Ocean and excellent surf culture

  • 🏄‍♀️ Surf beaches for beginners and experienced surfers

  • 🕌 A predominantly Muslim culture

  • 🗣️ Arabic and Amazigh are official languages; French is also widely used, and English is common in tourist areas

  • 💰 A cash-based culture in many smaller places

Animals

You'll probably see lots of cats and dogs around Morocco.

They can be very cute — we know! 🥹

But please don't pet or feed stray animals, even if they look friendly. Rabies is present in Morocco, and travel-health guidance recommends avoiding contact with animals. If you are bitten, scratched, or licked on broken skin, wash the area thoroughly and seek urgent medical advice.
